What's the difference between Fortnox and FakturaKlar?
Fortnox is a full bookkeeping and finance platform where invoicing is one of many modules, alongside bookkeeping, payroll, bank integrations, and 500+ third-party integrations (including Shopify, WooCommerce, and Zettle). It's built for businesses that want to run their entire finances in one system, often together with an accountant.
FakturaKlar is a focused invoicing tool. It does one thing, invoices and quotes with correct VAT handling, and does it well, without requiring you to also move your full bookkeeping into the same system.
Pricing: subscription vs. pay-per-invoice
According to Fortnox's own pricing page, their business plans range from 209 SEK/month (Mini) up to 919 SEK/month (Stor+), tied to 12-month contracts (shorter terms carry a surcharge). Invoicing-only, without bookkeeping, is available as a separate plan from 149 SEK/month. On top of the monthly fee, per-invoice fees apply for things like e-invoicing and postal delivery.
FakturaKlar has no commitment for occasional invoicing, you get a number of free invoices when you sign up and then buy invoice credits as needed, or choose a subscription if you invoice often. Which is cheaper depends entirely on how many invoices you actually send per month.
When Fortnox is the better fit
If you want to run your entire bookkeeping, payroll, and invoicing in one system, or need one of Fortnox's 500+ integrations with e-commerce or point-of-sale systems, Fortnox is a solid, long-established choice on the Swedish market.
When FakturaKlar is the better fit
If you only need to create and send invoices and quotes, without tying your business to a full bookkeeping system, especially if you invoice occasionally and don't want to commit to a monthly subscription you barely use.
